Chief Engineer – Container Fleet

German Shipowner | Modern Container Fleet | Career Progression & Bonuses

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Engineer (C/E) to join a well-established German shipowner’s container fleet.


Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in rank as Chief Engineer


Valid STCW documentation and medical certificate

Good command of English (spoken and written)

Non EU - Schengen needed

Conditions:


Contract Duration: As per the company rotation schedule

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and seniority

Seniority Bonus (based on continuous service in rank):

2 years – +100 USD/month

3 years – +300 USD/month

4+ years – +500 USD/month

Performance Bonus: Up to 750 USD/month

Based on regular evaluation and performance throughout the contract

Final bonus total calculated and communicated at end of contract

Main Responsibilities:
You will liaise directly with TSI (Technical Superintendent) regarding all technical aspects of vessel operations:

Overseeing the vessel's technical condition and maintenance

Organizing supplies and parts delivery

Adhering to maintenance schedules and repair timelines

Coordinating with contractors and service providers

Cost control and reporting

Ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained

Vessel primarily operates in the Sea of Marmara and Turkish Straits, with frequent voyages between Port Said → Dardanelles/Çanakkale → Yalova → Marmara region

It also sails regularly in the Eastern Mediterranean, including stops at Turkey and Egypt, with occasional transits through the Strait of Gibraltar and feeder services to Northern Europe and West Africa .
