Job Description:

As a River Elbe Captain, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently navigating vessels along the River Elbe, ensuring the secure transport of cargo and passengers. You will play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for reliability and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced mariners to excel in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate and navigate vessels along the River Elbe, adhering to all relevant safety and navigational protocols.
- Ensure the proper loading, stowage, and discharge of cargo, taking into account weight distribution and vessel stability.
- Monitor and maintain vessel systems, including propulsion, navigation, and communication equipment.
- Collaborate with the crew to ensure a well-functioning and harmonious shipboard environment.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, particularly those related to safety and environmental protection.
- Maintain accurate records of voyage activities, cargo handling, and other relevant information.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and implement appropriate emergency procedures when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers and clients when applicable.

Qualifications:

- Valid Master's license for inland navigation (River Elbe region).
- Experience as a Captain on inland waterways, with a strong preference for experience on the River Elbe.
- In-depth knowledge of navigational routes, regulations, and safety protocols specific to the River Elbe.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and lead a crew.
- Commitment to safety and environmental protection.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
